Luchon and Tour de France history

Luchon has been part of  Tour de France  history since the first visit to the mountains in 1910.

The 21st July 1910 at 3.30 am the riders set off for the stage “Luchon-Bayonne”, taking in the now famous cols :

Peyersourde, Aspin, Tourmalet and Aubisque. 14 hours later Octave Lapize won in a sprint finish. He went on to win the tour in Paris.
